Dr Clara Xu's research focuses on macro-finance, banking, and financial intermediation. She develops quantitative and theoretical models of banks and their contractual relationships with other non-depository financial institutions. Her work quantifies macroeconomic outcomes and delivers policy implications for financial regulation, contributing to a deeper understanding of systemic financial dynamics.
Dr Xu joined London Business School as an Assistant Professor of Finance from the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania, where she completed her doctoral studies. Her research combines rigorous quantitative methods with theoretical frameworks to address critical questions in financial economics and policy.
