Alex Knaster

Businessman and investor, Alex Knaster joins London Business School as an Executive Fellow of Strategy and Entrepreneurship. Outside of his role as Founder, Chairman and CEO of Pamplona Capital Management, Alex Knaster has also earned degrees from some of academia’s leading institutions. This includes a BS from Carnegie Mellon, Master’s degrees from New York University and Harvard, and a PhD from the Russian Academy of Science.

After graduating from Harvard, Alex Knaster held roles at several investment banks in America, before leading Credit Suisse First Boston’s Russia branch as its CEO, then joining Russia’s largest private bank Alfa Bank as its CEO. He subsequently left to found Pamplona Capital Management in 2004, which has since grown to manage $15 billion in assets.

Alex Knaster is a keen philanthropist, establishing multiple scholarships at Carnegie Mellon and supporting several cancer research charities. This includes The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research, which he founded and now leads as Chairman. A world-class expert in business, management and leadership, Alex Knaster is a Member of the Board of Trustees for Columbia Preparatory School and New York University, and a Board Member for AC Pisa Sport Club, of which he owns a majority stake.
