LBS shares its story at 1960s tea dance

Executive Education volunteers invite local residents to join in the 50th celebrations

Twenty-five elderly people from Camden and Islington in London danced the afternoon away at London Business School (LBS) to help celebrate 50 years of Executive Education at the School. 

The 50th anniversary project team partnered with local community network North London Cares to throw the 1960s-themed event, on the School’s London campus. Sir Andrew Likierman, Dean at LBS, joined in the quiz on the afternoon. 

Some 20 Executive Education staff volunteers included former professional dancer Alexandra Komlossy and James Harrington, who said, “It was a fantastic opportunity to meet new people, indulge my no-longer-secret passion for 1960s music and learn some dance moves from someone who knew what they were doing!”  

One of the ladies invited to the tea dance, Kathy, said, “It made me feel very happy and special. London Business School is situated in a nice area and to hear the story of the School, particularly Executive Education, was an eye-opener.”

Rosie, a North London Cares event manager, said, “Bringing together the older neighbours of Camden and Islington at this beautiful event was fantastic. It was flawless.”

LBS Executive Education volunteer Hima Patel added, “Seeing them happy made me proud to be working at London Business School.”
