Ackermann joins big business names at global summit

Josef Ackermann, Chairman of Zurich Insurance Group and Vice-Chairman of the World Economic Forum’s Foundation Board, will give an insider’s view on life after the financial crisis at London Business School’s Global Leadership Summit in collaboration with Deloitte.

Dr Ackermann is among the high profile line-up of speakers who will debate the need for new models of leadership at the event, which takes place six weeks from now, on 20 May 2013 at The Brewery.

The Summit speakers include:

• Dame Amelia Fawcett, Chairman, Hedge Fund Standards Board and Non-        Executive Chairman, Guardian Media Group
• Martin Wheatley, Chief Executive Officer, Financial Conduct Authority
• Gina Qiao, Senior Vice President, Lenovo
• James Quincey, President, Europe Group, The Coca-Cola Company

The theme of the School’s annual flagship event – now in its tenth year – is ‘Beyond Heroes, Villains and Scapegoats – The Future of Leadership’.

Professor Sir Andrew Likierman, Dean, London Business School, said: “This platform will enable a deeper debate about the systemic frailties of existing structures and models of leadership.

“Combining the experience of high profile decision makers with the expertise of London Business School faculty, we will discuss models of leadership that are capable of rebuilding the political, corporate, environmental and social landscape.”

Julian Franks, Professor of Economics, London Business School is one of the School’s world class faculty speaking on the panel: ‘Beyond reforms and recriminations – The future of financial leadership’. Speaking alongside Dame Amelia Fawcett, Martin Wheatley and other big business names, Professor Franks will ask the question: how can we improve the governance of banks?

Big Ideas sessions throughout the day will bring business leaders together to discuss: consumer influence on markets, the evolution of leadership, corporate governance and ethics, the future of responsible leadership and the future of responsible investment.
