Harnessing innovation is key to business survival

1543A new programme designed to equip executives with the tools they need to champion new ideas and put them into practice has been launched today by London Business School.

Designed for senior executives tasked with delivering innovation and driving growth, this five-day programme focuses on the practical implementation of innovation within organisations.  During the five-day programme, which starts in February, participants will examine the fundamentals of innovation in practice, from idea generation to execution.

“Innovation is key to long-term survival and it goes beyond new product development. It means radically re-evaluating areas of your business, such as strategy, business processes, operations and management models.

“The essential part of innovation is taking new ideas and putting them to work. That is where the real progress is to be made”, said Julian Birkinshaw, Professor of Strategy of Entrepreneurship at London Business School and Director of the new programme.

The Making Innovation Happen programme explores the practical steps to address specific innovation challenges facing organisations and the skills to infuse a culture of innovation to drive sustainable growth. Inspiration for the programme focus, content and design come from the results of a London Business School alumni survey as well as the latest research and best practice from the School’s Deloitte Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

The first iteration of Making Innovation Happen starts on 11 February 2013 and costs £6,300.
