FT ranks LBS Masters in Finance No1 in world

London Business School’s Masters in Finance has been ranked Number 1 globally by the Financial Times for post-experience programmes.

The Financial Times’ inaugural rankings were split into pre- and post-experience programme, and London Business School is the only leading business school to have made it into this year’s post-experience ranking – 11 institutions were shortlisted but only three were directly comparable in terms of the type of programme offered.

Launched in 1993, London Business School’s MiF students, from 38 nationalities, each bring over five years of finance experience to the programme and take electives with students on the MiF weekend programme which allows everyday finance experience to be brought into the classroom.

They are taught by the School’s world-leading finance academics – including Professors Stephen Schaefer, Julian Franks, Francesca Cornelli and Suleyman Basak – many of whom act as consultants to financial institutions, industry and government, and hold directorships in a range of organisations.

Today’s announcement follows the encouraging news earlier this year that London Business School’s MiF graduates earn an average of US$130,056 three years after graduation, twice as much as their nearest competitors.

As with other the rankings compiled by the Financial Times, today’s ranking is based on questionnaires completed by alumni who have been in the workplace for three years since graduation and by business schools themselves. Overall, the ranking demonstrates a high level of satisfaction amongst London Business School students and alumni.
