Four School members named in Thinkers50 list

A quartet of London Business School faculty members feature in a list of the leading management thinkers in the world.

Lynda Gratton, Professor of Management Practice in Organisational Behaviour, is at number 14 in the Thinkers50 list. The list is published every two years and is seen as the definitive ranking of the most influential business thinkers in the world.

Professor Gratton, who has published several books on organisational behaviour, is one of three women to make the top 20.

A few places behind Professor Gratton at 19 is Gary Hamel, the School's Visiting Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, who is also a Fellow at the World Economic Forum.

Professor of Marketing Nirmalya Kumar is at number 20. Professor Kumar says: "To be among the top 20 management thinkers in the world is a great honour and possible because, over the years, my colleagues have pushed me to think harder and more creatively." Kumar is the author of Brand Breakout: How Emerging Market Brands Will Go Global.

Completing the School's quartet is Julian Birkinshaw, London Business School Term Chair and Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, who was ranked at 39.

Umair Haque, an MBA alumnus of London Business School, was also listed at number 39.

Commenting on the number of women in Thinkers50, the list's co-creator Des Dearlove said: "Women are still under-represented in the Thinkers50, but they are making impressive progress."
