LBS alumnus Aidan Corbett secures $250m Apollo-backed facility for Wayflyer
The MBA 2013 entrepreneur strengthens his fintech’s global expansion with major new credit line to support e-commerce founders

London Business School alumnus Aidan Corbett (MBA 2013) has secured a $250m, two-year credit facility for his fintech company Wayflyer, marking a significant milestone in the company’s continued international expansion.
The funding has been provided by a fund backed by Apollo Global Management and will enable the Dublin-based company to scale its lending to small and medium-sized e-commerce businesses across multiple geographies.
Co-founded by Corbett, Wayflyer provides revenue-based financing to online merchants, using proprietary technology to assess performance and risk in real time. “We developed a proprietary technology platform that analyses marketing performance on a daily basis and underwrites up to $20m in funding in as fast as 24 hours,” he explains.
Wayflyer generates more than $100m in annual revenue, with approximately 60 per cent of its business derived from the United States. Its growth has been driven by the rapid expansion of e-commerce over the past decade, particularly during and after the pandemic, as online brands sought flexible capital to manage inventory, marketing and cash flow.
The new facility strengthens Wayflyer’s ability to provide non-dilutive capital to founders who might otherwise face constrained funding options. By expanding its lending capacity, the company aims to support a broader range of entrepreneurs navigating increasingly competitive digital marketplaces.
Wayflyer was also included in the 2024 Sifted 250 list of Europe’s fastest-growing startups, recognising the company’s continued momentum; see here
Corbett’s journey from LBS MBA student to fintech founder reflects the School’s strong track record of nurturing globally minded entrepreneurs who leverage technology to solve real-world business challenges.
