Vlad Babich

Professor Volodymyr Babich joins LBS for the 2025/26 academic year as a Visiting Professor of Management Science and Operations during his sabbatical from his position as the Dean's Professor of Operations and Information Management at the McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University.

Professor Babich holds a PhD in Operations Research, an MSc in Management Science, and an MSc in Mathematics from Case Western Reserve University. His research interests include the interface of finance, operations, and risk management (iFORM), supply risk and supply chain management, energy and sustainability, entrepreneurship, and innovative technologies, with work published in Management Science, Operations Research, and Manufacturing & Service Operations Management (M&SOM). His research has been supported by the US National Science Foundation and university and industry grants.

Professor Babich serves as an Associate Editor for Management Science, M&SOM, and Naval Research Logistics and a Senior Editor for Production and Operations Management. He has served as a Department Editor M&SOM and as an Editor for the INFORMS TutORials in Operations Research. He was a faculty member at the University of Michigan, and a Visiting Professor and scholar at LBS, the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and the Wharton School.
