Royal visit for London Business School
His Royal Highness The Duke of York has visited students at London Business School, Friday 21 January 2011 to discuss the prospects for foreign investment in the UK.
As the UK's special representative for international trade and investment, the Duke promotes the country overseas to potential investors.
He also works to help create better conditions for UK businesses who want to profit overseas, as well as being involved in trying to increase UK exports.
In a session facilitated by Associate Professor of Economics, Paolo Surico, students at the School discussed what the most important emerging markets are for UK companies, and the sectors of industry in which UK firms are strong and those in which they are not.
The Duke spoke about why advantage must be taken of high-value opportunities of the future, both at home and abroad.
The session concluded by students giving examples of what they believed were exciting and innovative businesses operating in the previously discussed markets.
