Randall Peterson has received an award from the Academy of Management (AOM) for his paper “Things are not always what they seem: the origins and evolution of intragroup conflict”. Winner of the category ‘Outstanding publication in organisational behaviour’ at the 2022 AOM Awards (#aom2022), the award recognises the publication that represents the most significant contribution to the advancement of the field of organisational behaviour.

Professor Peterson took the award along with his fellow authors Priti Pradhan Shah of the University of Minnesota, Stephen Jones of the University of Washington Bothell and Amanda Ferguson of Northern Illinois University. Their success was revealed at the Organisational Behaviour Division Awards Ceremony and Social in Seattle on 6 August 2022.

Randall was also the recipient of an OB Mentorship Award from AOM, recognised in 2021 for his prowess at mentoring others in achieving their career objectives through moral, social, and intellectual support.
