09 March 2010
The Prime Minister of Bhutan, Lyonchhen Jigmi Y. Thinley, presented Lynda Gratton with the Global HRD Tata award at the HRD Congress in India on 14 February 2010.
Lynda was introduced by an alumnus of the HRST programme who had received the HR practitioner award which Lynda described as “a double whammy for London Business School!”
The Prime Minister in his address to the HRD Congress, explained how Bhutan has embraced the GNH Indicator and uses this to focus on the happiness of their citizens. Lynda has composed an interesting Blog entry titled The Pursuit of Happiness (http://www.lyndagratton.com/Future-of-Work.html) and has made some thoughtful remarks with regard to the four pillars of Gross National Happiness (GNH), a concept developed in order to measure quality of life.
