LBS and the 30% Club offer senior executive scholarship
Funding to support leading businesswomen with skills needed to achieve C-Suite position
The 30% Club and London Business School have joined forces to give more women the tools to achieve CEO and C-Suite positions by offering a scholarship for the School’s highly rated Senior Executive Programme. The scholarship is for women with around 15 years of managerial experience who should already be in senior positions in large organisations.
Worth over £34,000, this four-week general management programme supports executives in developing a diverse range of critical leadership skills. It is designed to help individuals further advance their career and potentially join the Executive Committee and, hopefully, ultimately take a CEO position in a FTSE 250 company or equivalent. However, delegates may currently be a few levels below such positions.
Applicants for the scholarship should be nominated by their employer; the deadline for applications is 30 September 2019, for entry in 2020.
The scholarship affords full participation in all programme activity; it also includes one-to-one executive coaching, a personalised development plan and accommodation.
The Senior Executive Programme is one of the School’s most established and highly rated programmes, consistently achieving 4.5 out 5.0 from previous participants.
Delegates are taught by LBS’s world-renowned academics as well as industry experts who come from business and the public sector. Earlier this year, the School was ranked seventh globally by the Financial Times in its annual analysis of Executive Education, which assesses the world’s top 90 business schools according to 30 different criteria.
Helen Kerkentzes, Associate Dean of Executive Education at LBS, said: “We are delighted to work with the 30% Club for the fifth consecutive year on this initiative to help organisations develop their female executive talent and to contribute to increasing the number of women reaching senior positions.”
Ann Cairns, 30% Club Global co-chair, said: “To truly enable a step-change at the board level, we need a strong pipeline of female leaders ready to take on C-Suite positions, and courses like this help us equip our female talent for the leadership roles of tomorrow.”
Rupert Soames OBE, Chief Executive of Serco Group plc and a member of the judging panel, said: “This scholarship represents a great opportunity for the winner, who will be supported and encouraged to progress her career with this highly respected course. I am looking forward to getting the opportunity to meet some of the stars of the future who are likely to be running very important businesses in the years ahead.”
On completion of this general management programme, participants become part of LBS’s Executive Education Alumni community, a global network of over 17,000 successful business leaders in 150 countries.
Previous scholarship recipients include Andreea Moldovan, General Manager, Czech & Slovakia at Avon, as well as Maria Angelova, General Manager Central Europe at JAFRA Cosmetics.
