About me: With a mathematics background, Rob began his career in EY’s audit graduate scheme before moving over to the financial modelling and valuations team at Grant Thornton, advising on M&A, restructurings and strategic change. Following this, he decided to pursue M&A further and joined the financial sponsors investment banking team at Investec, undertaking a range of M&A execution, origination and coverage services.

After seven years in financial services, Rob wanted to branch out and develop himself into a more rounded business leader. The MBA programme at London Business School was the ideal programme to further develop his strategy and managerial skill set while expanding his network.

Rob chose LBS for many reasons, but top of the list was the flexibility of the programme, the strength of its faculty, the diversity of the student body, and the vibrant campus life in London.

When he’s not sat in class, Rob enjoys reading, travelling, cycling and football, and is a keen-but-amateur self-taught guitarist. He is a regular at the UK’s wide range of music festivals and continues to explore London’s vibrant music scene. He is a keen hiker (when his ailing ankle permits) and spent his pre-MBA summer hiking/wild camping with friends across Scotland.

Three topics I can be approached about: Private equity; investment banking; living in London
