My greatest challenge when I applied to business school: Building a unique application narrative.
About me: I graduated with a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from University College London (UCL), where I also pursued a minor in Finance and Accounting out of curiosity. This sparked a strong interest in finance, leading me to explore various aspects of the industry through a summer analyst programme at AmplifyME in London. It was there that I discovered my passion for investment banking, which was solidified through networking with professionals in the field.
Coming from a non-business background and having already gained exposure to finance and accounting during my undergraduate studies, I wanted to join a programme that would combine both disciplines. This is why I decided to apply for the Masters in Management programme at LBS.
The programme provides the ideal platform to build on my non-business background and prepare me for a successful transition. My experience working at a consulting firm further reinforced my commitment to finance.
Three topics I can be approached for: Transitioning from STEM to business; choosing between business schools; application process.
