About me: Jesus is from Barranquilla, Colombia, and has experienced first-hand the role infrastructure can play in tackling what he believes are the two largest challenges of this century: climate change and income inequality.
Before attending LBS, Jesus was a Portfolio Officer at CIFI S.A. overseeing a portfolio of project-finance loans in the renewable energy and telecommunication sectors in Latin America. During this time, he realised many projects fail to get built due to a lack of tailor-made financing structures.
By attending the Masters in Finance at LBS, he aims to learn more about hybrid financial products and the role they can play in getting more projects built that positively impact their communities. He also wants to leverage the School’s network in finding a role that allows him to learn the nut and bolts of these products and what prevents their deployment in Latin America. He believes that the LBS experience will allow him to do just that due to its close collaboration with the industry and the option to tailor his programme to suit his own needs and goals in both hard and soft skills.
In his free time, Jesus enjoys running in nature, finding unexplored corners of London and writing poems.
