About me: Dan is Korean-American and grew up in Boston. After his undergraduate studies, he moved to France and Norway to pursue a dual Masters degree focused on sustainable development and finance, intrigued by the intersection of business and social impact. While there, he wrote a thesis on private equity in emerging markets and interned at a startup building a marketplace for financial products (loans, savings accounts, current accounts, insurance) in Ghana to put theory into practice. He also volunteered for three months in Germany to support an operation to establish regular football camps for refugees.
Immediately prior to LBS, Dan was an Engagement Manager at Kearney, working on growth strategy for beauty and luxury brands. He came to LBS to experience life in London, immerse himself in the diverse community and expand his skillset. Dan wants to further investigate the solutions for achieving a more conscious capitalism, continuing the questions he first posed in his thesis, and is particularly interested in how the finance industry can play a role.
On a personal level, Dan enjoys listening to great music (Afrobeats, alternative RnB, house), drinking Korean barley tea (boricha) and staying in shape. He is a lifelong lacrosse player and played for the Korean Men’s National Team at the 2023 World Lacrosse Championship.
