Three topics I can be approached about: Military backgrounds; non-traditional backgrounds; why choose LBS.
About me: Chris joined LBS having spent eight years serving in the Royal Navy, above and beneath the waves.
Commissioning from the Royal Naval College in 2015, he was selected for Submarine Service and began the rigorous training required to qualify as a nuclear submariner. Over the following years, he progressed from warfare officer to junior, and then senior, submarine navigator, whilst conducting highly classified operations around the globe.
In 2020, having been selected for command in the surface fleet, he was given the rare privilege of becoming the captain of his own warship for the first time. The following 18 months were the most fulfilling and enjoyable of his whole career as he led the men and women onboard to numerous successes. He thereafter qualified as a Specialist Navigator and was employed on numerous high-profile projects as one of the most highly qualified navigators across the Navy.
Chris left the military in 2023 seeking a new challenge. He is leveraging LBS’s MBA to complement his leadership experience with comprehensive business knowledge and skills to pursue a career in strategy consulting.
At LBS, he has been honoured with the Military Scholarship and is keenly involved in both the Military in Business Club and Expedition Club. He is passionate about his Student Ambassador role and attracting more non-traditional talent to MBAs, especially from naval and maritime backgrounds.
Outside of classes, he enjoys endurance sports, adventures and feeding a severe addiction to pizza.
