Classroom experience


Class time is about hands-on learning at LBS. You will experience a range of action-oriented learning activities that will build knowledge, analytical understanding and the decision-making skills to tackle real-world challenges. And fast track your career.

  • Study groups and assignments

    Get outside of your comfort zone. Work with peers from more than 35 countries with different approaches to problem-solving and team work, and different undergraduate degrees – in carefully selected study groups. We maximise the diversity so you can gain insights into what it’s like working with people from across the globe.

  • Faculty

    Orchestrating the classroom experience is LBS faculty. Some of the finest thinkers in business and finance, faculty are experts in developing in-depth theoretical understanding together with business-ready skills to tackle real-life challenges. Using a range of techniques from case studies to simulations, faculty will empower you to manage complexity, solve problems and make sound decisions.

Global International Field Trips and career treks to strategic hubs around the world expose you to business practice in situ; giving you the opportunity to translate class theory into real-world practice and gain first-hand experience of grappling with dynamic challenges in diverse settings.

    There’s no substitute for experience. And your London Business Challenge Week gives you immersive experience, working with a leading London-based organisation to tackle real-world ambiguity and complexity in an authentic, fast-moving setting. You come away equipped with real-life understanding and skills to hit the ground running when you graduate.

  • Guest speakers and practitioners

    Gain expert insight into how our complex global business world operates, its challenges and the innovative business practices that differentiate top performers. Inspirational leaders from business, politics and the arts have included Gregor Andrade of AQR Capital Management, Ana Paula Harris from State Street Global Advisors, Gertjan Vlieghe who is a member of the Monetary Policy Committee and Franck Cazaubieilh Head of Strategic Equity Derivatives, BNP Paribas London.

  • Mentoring

    Take advantage of mentoring from MBA and Masters in Finance students and alumni working in finance. Mentors support you with job applications, build your global network and offer advice throughout the programme.

  • Internship

    The introduction of a fourth term expands your eligibility to apply for more internship opportunities. For companies recruiting on a strict penultimate year policy, you will now be able to apply for summer internships commencing at the end of your core course work, then return to campus in the autumn term for additional electives. Students are required to source their own internship opportunities.

  • Career exposure

    Our central London location and exceptional reputation gives you the chance to connect with global recruiters, including representatives from top global banks such as Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, J.P.
