Currently, the Fund Head of The Carlyle Group’s Carlyle Sub-Saharan Africa Fund, Eric Kump has 25 years of international private equity experience. He also specialises in research around private equity, emerging markets and Africa. Holding a BA in Finance and Accounting from Pace University, and a MBA from Harvard Business School, Eric is also an accomplished and passionate athlete, competing in triathlon and ironman events

This course covers the main concepts, techniques, instruments and institutions involved in the private equity investment. We present a broad set of deals to gain familiarity with the private equity investment model and the opportunities set. Specific themes include: the structure and strategy of the private equity firm, valuation, financing, deal processing, and harvesting.
