Alon Avner is Adjunct Professor of Finance at London Business School, bringing extensive practitioner expertise in distressed and special situations, alternative credit investing, and private equity. His professional focus spans performing and distressed credit across corporate, real estate, and non-performing loan portfolios, with deep experience in European markets across both liquid and private credit strategies.
At London Business School, Alon teaches Distressed and Special Situations, Alternative Credit Investing, and Private Equity, drawing directly on his career at the forefront of European credit markets.
Alon joined Bain Capital Credit in 2006 as part of the founding European team of three individuals, subsequently building the business into an operation of 120 employees across European jurisdictions managing in excess of €20 billion of assets. He has served as Head of Bain Capital Credit Europe, Co-Head of Global Distressed and Special Situations, and was a member of the Investment and risk Committees.. Prior to Bain Capital Credit, he was a Manager at Bain & Company, focusing on private equity, media, and telecoms, and earlier held operations and marketing roles at Comverse Technology and Creo/Scitex. Alon also serves as a board member and adviser across corporate and charitable organisations.
