Nisreen Shocair EMBAG2004 was previously appointed as CEO of Ellay.com in 2017, a multi-channel shopping network serving in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Most recently, she has been president at Virgin Megastore for the Middle East & North Africa for over a decade (2006-17), leading its transformation and evolution in the region to become a leading retailer across 10 markets.
Prior to joining Virgin Megastore, she held positions at Viacom, Sony Music, Bertelsmann AG and Hearst Entertainment. Nisreen is on the advisory board of several digital and environmental start-ups and was a judge on The Entrepreneur TV show. She was awarded Female CEO of the Year by CEO Middle East in 2011 and Businesswoman of the Year by Women in Leadership. Nisreen was on the 100 Most Powerful Arab Women’s list four years in a row and was listed in the top 100 most Powerful Arab Women in 2014 by Forbes Middle East. She is a regular speaker for the World Retail Congress, Retail Leader’s Circle, Retail Week and the Financial Times.
She runs sessions on disruptive business, customer experience and retailing for Virgin, Nestle and GM, to name a few.
