About me: Prior to joining the LBS Masters in Finance programme, Irem was a corporate banking associate at Citibank Turkey for almost three years, responsible for delivering relationship management and client coverage for Turkish top-tier local corporates and the public sector. Levelling up to a global bank like Citi was one of Irem’s initial career goals as she was particularly interested in acquiring knowledge on banking products and participating in transactions with a nationwide impact.

Before joining Citibank, Irem worked as a credit risk analyst in a leading Turkish Bank and as corporate finance associate in a Turkish investment bank.

Irem has a masters degree from Galatarasay University, Turkey, in Financial Economics and bachelor’s degree from Bilkent University, Turkey, in Economics. She also completed an exchange programme at Mannheim University, Germany.

During her studies at LBS, Irem aims to leverage her previous banking experience to become a corporate transaction leader in a global bank in her future career, while gaining an excellent academic and practical knowledge of finance.

Irem is passionate about travelling. In her free time, she enjoys travelling to experience new cultures and to get to know new people. She is interested in art, do-it-yourself projects and pilates.
