Danilo Guitto
Operations Finance Director – Powy | Negotiating and Influencing Skills for Leaders

Shaped by growing up between Milan and Rome, where history, innovation, and progress intersect, Danilo developed an early fascination with mobility and transport, one of today’s most dynamic and future-defining sectors. With a strong academic foundation in Civil Engineering and Transport Systems Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome, he built a global perspective on sustainability and mobility early in his career. His professional journey spans project management and consulting roles across Rome and Paris, followed by senior experience at a global transport infrastructure leader, where he honed expertise in business planning and sustainable transportation.
Since 2021, he has been at the forefront of electric mobility, currently serving as Director of Operations Finance at Powy, supporting the expansion of EV charging networks across Italy and Spain. Committed to continuous growth, he has complemented his technical and leadership experience with an MBA and Executive Education, most recently joining the Certificate in Management at London Business School to deepen his capabilities in finance, strategy, and leadership within a truly international learning community.

I grew up between Milan and Rome, cities where history, art and progress naturally coexist. This environment shaped my strong interest in mobility and transport, one of the most innovative and fast-evolving sectors today, where technological innovation and sustainability play a central role. It is a growing and future-oriented field, full of both opportunities and challenges, and this is what has always motivated me.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering followed by a Master’s Degree with honours in Transport Systems Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome, an international and globally oriented programme that helped me develop a global perspective about sustainability, transportation and mobility.
I began my career in project management and consulting between Rome and Paris, before joining a global leader in transport infrastructures. Working in an international context, I developed solid experience in business planning, sustainable mobility and transportation.
Along this journey, I completed an MBA with honours at Guglielmo Marconi University of Rome (GMU), followed by an Executive Custom Programme in Project Management at LUISS Business School. Both gave me the opportunity and ability to manage innovative and large-scale projects.
Since 2021, I have embraced the challenge of electric mobility, an innovative and rapidly growing sector with a strong focus on sustainability. I am currently the Director of Operations Finance at Powy, a company that designs, builds, and operates electric vehicle charging stations, with a well-established network across Italy and Spain.
In 2025, I joined the Certificate in Management at London Business School to further develop my skills in Finance, Strategy and Leadership, and to continue growing within an international learning community.
“I now approach negotiations with an integrative mindset, focused on long-term relationships, win–win outcomes and expanding the value available to all parties, recognising that the best agreements are not about winners and losers, but about finding the right balance that allows everyone to grow the pie.”
“The course gave me the frameworks and confidence to move from reacting to leading the process, by focusing on value creation rather than positions.”

I genuinely valued the entire course and would make the same choice again. In particular, the live negotiations were extremely impactful, as they removed the distance between faculty and participants and encouraged open discussion, peer learning and meaningful networking within an international cohort.
From a learning perspective, the course offered a robust and practical framework for managing negotiations of increasing complexity—from structured pre-negotiation preparation to dispute management and conflict resolution—consistently grounded in a constructive, win–win and value-creation approach. I especially valued the strong emphasis on pre-negotiation strategy, as well as the module on decision-making and influence, which provided advanced tools to effectively frame information, shape outcomes and maximise value for all parties involved.
In my day-to-day work, I immediately began applying the concepts learned, actively putting them into practice daily. I now feel a stronger awareness of my negotiating power and a clearer understanding of how to manage the entire negotiation process. Having a solid grasp of negotiation management, as well as influence and persuasion techniques, also enables me to recognise and defuse these tactics when they are used by the counterparty to steer an agreement in their favour.
“I have become more confident in managing multi-party negotiations, feeling comfortable taking ownership of complex situations and supporting my team by suggesting clear strategies and courses of action.”
“The course can really support your growth as a leader by increasing the impact of your decisions and actions, both professionally and personally.”

I chose this programme as part of my Certificate in Management (CiM) for three main reasons.
First, as part of my managerial growth, I wanted to further strengthen my leadership, persuasion and influencing skills, and this course felt like a natural step to support the next phase of my career.
Second, the combination of structured case studies and live negotiations with an international and highly experienced cohort represented a unique learning opportunity, one that a top business school like London Business School is particularly well positioned to offer.
Finally, Professor Gillian Ku is a leading authority in the field. Her teaching style immediately sparked my interest in both the course and the subject, which I continue to explore today.
