Professor Alastair Lawrence's research investigates how investors use financial reporting information and the market pricing of firms. His work explores the intersection of financial reporting, investor behaviour, and the valuation of technology-driven enterprises, contributing to our understanding of contemporary capital markets. His research has been published in leading journals including the American Economic Review, The Accounting Review, and the Journal of Accounting and Economics.

Professor Lawrence teaches Digital Investing and previously taught Financial Statement Analysis. He joined the University of California, Berkeley's Haas School of Business as an Assistant Professor in 2011, advancing to Associate Professor and serving as the Barbara and Gerson Bakar Faculty Fellow. He joined London Business School as an Associate Professor in 2017 and was promoted to Professor of Accounting in 2023. He also serves as Chair of the Accounting Faculty. His professional experience includes roles at Ernst & Young LLP in Canada and BDO Stoy Hayward in Scotland.
