Rajesh Chandy is Professor of Marketing and holds the Tony and Maureen Wheeler Chair in Entrepreneurship at London Business School, where he serves as Academic Director of the Wheeler Institute for Business and Development. His research focuses on the intersection of business and development, with recent projects examining business skills among micro-entrepreneurs in South Africa, property rights in slums in Egypt, and gender empowerment through jobs in India.
Rajesh has served as a member of the advisory board of Journal of Marketing and as co-editor of its special issue on "Better Marketing for a Better World." He is also co-editor of Management Science special issue on "Business and Climate Change" and previously served as Area Editor for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Management Science. His work has been recognised by Fortune magazine, which described his innovation findings as "an unorthodox and bracing set of management principles."
Rajesh has provided advisory and executive education services to leading organisations including Carrefour, Novo Nordisk, Nordea, Rabobank, Toshiba, St. Jude Medical, 3M, Philips, Microsoft, Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, and the World Economic Forum, among others. He has served as an independent director on the board of Laurus Labs Limited, a publicly listed pharmaceutical company, and is currently on the board of the American Marketing Association. He is an elected Fellow of the British Academy and of the American Marketing Association.
