Jed grew up in a suburb of New York City but has spent his professional career thus far outside of the US living and working in South Africa. A Kiva Fellow, Jed spent time in both Swaziland and Uganda working for microfinance institutions there. His exposure administering microloans to smallholder farmers led to him developing an interest around inclusive supply chains. Pursuing this interest, Jed left microfinance for a job at the international restaurant group, Nando’s, where he was involved in establishing the company’s “farm to fork” smallholder farmer sourcing program for its famous peri-peri chillies.
Most recently, Jed caught the entrepreneurial bug and helped found South Africa’s first fast-casual American hamburger concept centred on inclusive sourcing and employment practices. Whilst studying at London Business School, Jed looks forward to learning more about the world of finance from the School's excellent professors, participating in the Africa Club, exploring Europe, and learning from his wonderfully diverse classmates.
