Tanzanian Air Tours (A)

Subject

Entrepreneurship

Publication Year

1998

Abstract

Tanzanian Air Tours (TAT), a small but fast growing Tanzanian Airline, is looking for a capital injection to help fuel the airline's growth. The Tanzanian Venture Capital Fund, 33% shareholder, is considering making an investment of almost $1-million, representing 20% of the fund's total investment. There are, however, mixed reactions to the funding request within the fund management company. At the heart of this issue lies a question of investment policy: whether to spread resources over a number of different companies or to follow a more focused approach.
