Faheem Ahmed

Faheem is a medical doctor by background and inaugural Clinical Entrepreneur Fellow at NHS England, formerly advising on national health innovation policy. He co-designed a novel 3D-printed total knee meniscus replacement as a pre-clinical spin-out company of Imperial College, which has raised over £675K in investment. He also co-founded a start-up accelerated at Bethnal Green Ventures – a digital networking platform for clinicians and developers to collaborate on health tech projects.

Since qualifying from Guy’s, King’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals where he was elected Student-President, Faheem has been appointed as King’s College London medical school’s youngest lecturer. He designed KCL’s new Health Entrepreneurship module and delivered quality improvement projects nationwide as the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s UK Open School Lead. Whilst still a medical student, he completed his Masters in Public Health at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine with a specialism in health services management, investigating innovative global health financing models.

As a founding director of an international NGO, Selfless, Faheem manages social impact initiatives addressing health inequalities in the UK and Bangladesh. He is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper for London and was recently appointed to coordinate the 2019 Circulars Awards at Davos. Faheem is a council member of the G4 Alliance for safer surgical systems and Harvard collaborator on the Lancet Commission for Global Surgery. He has authored over 30 academic publications, delivered more than 40 international presentations and received 20+ awards.

At LBS, Faheem is the MBA2020 SARI Scholar and is helping to establish LBS’ first student-led impact investment fund and hosts high net-worth entrepreneurs on campus through the TELL series. He is also spearheading the creation of joint LBS-LSHTM development impact projects with the Wheeler Institute for Business & Development. Faheem is a passionate sportsman and mixed martial artist, representing the Demons football team as well as providing medical assistance at major sporting events including the London Marathon. He recently launched Metaphys, a functional health and holistic wellbeing clinic, enhancing human performance in individuals and teams.
