Programme details

Financing the Entrepreneurial Business aims to give you the practical skills needed to secure or provide investment for fast-growth businesses. The course covers all aspects of the financing process:

  • valuation techniques for privately-held companies
  • non-financial factors impacting valuations
  • due diligence from both sides of the table
  • shareholders agreements
  • structuring and pricing of financing options
  • multiple rounds of financing
  • investor considerations and pitfalls
  • people issues in doing deals
  • exit strategies, including IPOs and trade sales.

The highly interactive programme relies on vigorous discussion of actual deals - some successful, some not - captured in compelling case studies.

To enable participants to get the most out of this highly interactive programme, you'll be asked to complete a valuation assignment for discussion at the programme's first session. Having tackled the issues and reached your own conclusions, you'll move up the learning curve quickly.

At the end of the programme, participants will be given a chance to apply what they have learned by working a small group to submit an investment proposal complete with valuation and proposed deal structure. Detailed feedback will be provided.
