Chris Higson

Associate Professor of Accounting Practice

Teaches on the Accounting and Financial Analysis programme

Chris is Associate Professor of Accounting Practice at London Business School, where he was for some years chair of the accounting group. Chris publishes extensively on the financial performance and valuation of firms and on accounting policy and financial governance, and he regularly comments on television, radio and in the international press on these issues. Chris' latest book is Financial Statements: Economic analysis and interpretation. Chris is a highly regarded teacher and has taught on all the major programmes at London Business School. He has also advised many of the world's leading industrial companies and financial institutions.

 

Ian Cooper

Professor of Finance

Teaches on the Valuation programme (daytime format only)

Ian's publications and research are in the areas of corporate finance, company financing and capital structure, derivative instruments and international finance. He consults and acts as an expert witness for numerous corporations and financial institutions on corporate finance, valuation, cost of capital, regulation and risk management. He is on the editorial boards of nine leading academic and professional journals and a winner of the Senior Executive Programme teaching award.

 

Christopher Hennessy

Professor of Finance

Teaches on the Valuation programme (evening format only)

Christopher's research focuses on corporate finance, tax planning, financial contracting, and industrial organisation. Christopher's research has been extensively published, including three papers that were awarded Brattle Prizes for outstanding corporate finance research in the Journal of Finance. Christopher is currently a member of the advisory board at Benchmark Metrics Inc. and an Associate Editor at the Review of Finance. He served as Senior Associate for the Barents Group of KPMG Peat Marwick, analyzing state and local taxation of corporations. Christopher also served as a research associated at the United States Department of Treasury, Office of Business Tax Analysis.

 

Henri Servaes

Professor of Finance

Teaches on the Funding, Risk and Restructuring programme

Henri's research and publications focus on corporate governance, IPOs, mutual funds and capital structure. Henri consults for numerous companies and is an Associate Editor of several leading finance journals.

 

Karl Lins

Visiting Professor of Finance

Teaches on the Advanced Corporate Finance programme

Karl researches in the area of international corporate finance, with an emphasis on governance and capital markets, and presents his research at academic and practitioner conferences worldwide. Karl has published his papers in the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Accounting Research, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Financial Management, and the Journal of Corporate Finance. He has also done executive teaching at INSEAD in France, Duisenberg School of Finance in Amsterdam, Monterrey Tech in Mexico, University of North Carolina, and University of Utah, and has won several teaching awards at these institutions.
