We're proud of our ability to attract people of the highest calibre. Our success in competing for talent with other top-ranking business schools is a mark of our international standing. And in turn, our faculty members enable us to create innovative programmes for our world-class students.
Business and government leaders, professionals and the media turn to our faculty for the latest business thinking.
During the year 2007-2008, the School's faculty published over 150 papers in academic journals. One issue of Harvard Business Review included three articles by London Business School faculty.
The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) has consistently awarded the School's research a top ranking in its Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) since this was introduced in 1986. In the latest RAE, published in December 2008, 55% of London Business School's research received the top 4* (world-leading) rating. This was the highest percentage achieved by any university in the UK in the business and management sector. Our three closest competitors, Cambridge University, Imperial College and Cardiff University each achieved a 35% 4* rating. Across-the-board excellence in our research activities was also highlighted. As well as achieving the highest 4* (world-leading) rating, 30% of our research was rated 'internationally excellent.'
