Conduct an interactive leadership development session in a resort hotel for 50 high-potential leaders in a Global 100 corporation. My session is part of a much larger effort involving instruction from corporate executives, 360° feedback and coaching. Participants and I discuss how to overcome the classic challenges that come with success. I warn them that every time they get promoted, more employees will find their jokes funnier and their observations wiser; they must beware of such adulation.
