What does the recognition of the Masters in Finance as a CFA Program Partner mean for you and the School?
What are the benefits to you, as a MiF student?
Scholarships are available each year to enable 10 MiF students to take the CFA programme at the reduced fee of USD250 for the June sitting (a saving of USD620). A full set of CFA study materials are available at London Business School. MiF students will also receive a CFA Institute newsletter and are invited to CFA events.
What is the CFA Institute?
Chartered Financial Analysis Institute is the global, not-for-profit association of investment professionals that awards the CFA and CIPM designations.
What is the CFA Program Partner initiative?
It's a relationship between CFA Institute and select colleges and universities around the world that have incorporated a significant percentage (70%) of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge into their degree programmes.
What is a CFA Program Partner?
CFA Institute awards CFA Program Partner status to recognise finance degree programmes which are (i) academically rigorous and (ii) closely aligned to professional practice. In so doing, the CFA Institute recognises that professional and academic qualifications are complementary: both play an important role in ensuring the success of the finance industry.
So are CFA and Masters in Finance effectively the same thing?
No. Being a CFA Program Partner does not mean that the MiF and the CFA are the same thing; they are complementary to each other. Because of the breadth and depth of its curriculum, the MiF is appropriate for CFA candidates and CFA charter holders alike.
