B.Tech. (IIT Kharagpur), MBA (IIM Ahmedabad)
Sayan joined the PhD programme in 2015. His broad research interests are entrepreneurship and innovation. In his dissertation he examines how capital-raising performance of high-tech ventures is sensitive to two classes of effects at the firm-market interface; 1. Investor response to signals and cues unrelated to venture quality and 2. Simultaneous collaborative and competitive dynamics among peer ventures. He examines these issues in empirical settings spanning IPOs, accelerators, crowdfunding.
Prior to joining the programme, Sayan worked in the CEO’s Office of a global top-5 generic pharmaceutical company, where he was the post-merger integration PMO for the largest-ever pharma MA deal in India. He has also worked as a management consultant, advising clients in South and West Asia on market entry, cost reduction, and organization design projects.
