Irem Erten

Irem Erten is a Doctoral Candidate in Finance. Her primary research interests are in the areas of financial intermediation, corporate governance, and the interaction thereof. Her job market paper shows that in the presence of shadow banks, bank capital requirements distort screening and cause a credit risk transfer consistent with strategic adverse selection.

Before joining the PhD program, Erten received a MS in financial engineering from Bogazici University and a BA in economics (Minor in Mathematics) from Middlebury College.
