alexedmans482x271A London Business School professor of finance has been named a ‘Rising Star of Finance’.

Alex Edmans, Professor of Finance, London Business School, received the award after presenting his paper, ‘The Source of Information in Prices and Investment-Price Sensitivity’. The award, given biennially by Fordham University in conjunction with New York University and Imperial College, recognises the achievements of four ‘stars’ in the field for their career contributions to finance.

Professor Edmans says: “It’s an honour to receive this award. However, this award was not for me, but for my research, to which my mentors, colleagues, and in particular my co-authors made significant contributions.”
The Rising Star awards honour those individuals who have made a demonstrable impact to finance, many of whom are already established professors who have published prolifically.

Professor Edmans specialises in corporate finance (corporate governance, executive compensation, mergers and acquisitions, long-term investment), behavioural finance and corporate social responsibility. He was previously awarded the ‘Rising Star of Corporate Governance’ award by Yale University for outstanding contributions to corporate governance by a person under 40.

Professor Edmans teaches on the MBA programme at London Business School, recently ranked among the top 100 universities for the third consecutive year in the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings.
