London Business School behavioural expert receives George Petitpas award
Lynda Gratton, Professor of Management Practice in Organisational Behaviour at London Business School has been awarded the World Federation of People Management Association’s George Petitpas award.
Professor Gratton receives the award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the human resources profession worldwide. The association said: “Her dedication is inspirational to others.”
Professor Gratton says: "It is a privilege to receive this award. I am sorry that I could not be in Chile to receive the award. I remain committed to building organisations that have people and purpose at their heart."
The World Federation of People Management Associations (WFPMA) established the award, formerly known as the Georges Petitpas Memorial Award, in the mid-1980s to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the advance of the HR profession.
The award is named after George Petitpas, who was nominated as president of the WFPMA in 1983, but who passed away before taking up this office. It is presented as at the WFPMA World Congress on People Management held every two years in different locations around the world.
Professor Gratton who teaches executives on the School’s new ‘Leading Businesses into the Future’ programme, is also the author of a new book The Key: How Corporations Succeed by Solving the World’s Toughest Problems.
