London Business School has been recognised for its excellence in producing case studies, winning three out of out of nine categories at the ecch (formerly European Case Clearing House) European Case Awards.
John Mullins and Julian Lloyd won the Entrepreneurship category for their case on Marston Venture Management, the venture capital arm of a European business school.
Nirmalya Kumar, Nader Tavassoli and Sophie Linguri Coughlan won the Marketing award for ‘Red Bull: The Anti-Brand Brand' examining Red Bull's successful use of buzz marketing and the possible need to transition to more traditional marketing as a mature brand.
Nirmalya and Sophie took home a second award in Strategy and General Management for ‘Zara: Responsive, High Speed, Affordable Fashion', looking at the changes needed to keep up with the rapid pace of growth of the brand.
Commenting on the awards, Randall Peterson, Deputy Dean of Faculty, said, "London Business School's success at the European Case Awards recognises the high quality of teaching materials being produced by our faculty. These winning cases were chosen for their popularity in universities and business schools worldwide which is credit to the those involved in their development."
The ecch European Case Awards recognise successful case authors and their institutions and raises the profile of the case method of teaching. Awards are given in up to nine management categories plus one overall winning case for each year. Cases are judged by popularity, measured by the number of business schools teaching the cases in the past three years.
