My greatest challenge when applying to business school was: presenting my interests in business analytics through personal statements and short essays

About me: I was born and raised in Beijing, China. I studied in five countries and completed my undergraduate study at ESSEC Business School in France. With a degree in business administration, I loved to see how business knowledge could collide with different industries. I interned at publishing, insurance and aerospace companies, worked part-time as a graphic designer and once undertook an illustrator job. Aside from the private sectors, I also enjoyed applying my skillset to the public sector, resulting in volunteering at a middle school in Tibet, China, a shelter for mentally disabled people in South Korea, and OECD in France. Despite being scattered in different industries, all my working experiences more or less involved data processing, which revealed the essentiality of data to me and raised my interest in data analytics. I find hardcore technical skills invaluable for the future as well as for my devotion to serving the public sector, and the MAM programme at LBS is the perfect incubator for such a skillset with its comprehensive courses, welcoming community and abundant resources.

Three topics I can be approached about: Details of the MAM programme including courses, extracurricular activities, and student life; the application process; diversified experiences
