My greatest challenge when I applied to business school: Preparing for the GMAT in under two months while working a full-time job.
About me: I was born to Malaysian parents and raised in a little red dot on the world map known as Singapore. From an early age, I’ve been able to converse in English, Chinese and the Hokkien dialect.
Being an individual who loves being in a dynamic environment and a good challenge, I did not want to restrict my career opportunities to what my degree had to offer. Hence, during my time at NTU, I explored a wide range of opportunities, including research pharmaceutical, energy consulting and market research. Upon graduating from NTU, I worked at Accenture and eventually joined my family business, where I gained mentorship and broad exposure to business operations.
I eventually applied to LBS’s Masters in Management programme as I believed that the practical, diverse and transformative experience would allow me to grow tremendously, both personally and professionally.
In my free time, you’ll find me staring at artefacts in museums, lifting weights in the gym or stuffing my face in one of London’s bakeries, with a pastry in one hand and a matcha in the other.
Three topics I can be approached for: Applying to LBS; family business; transitioning from a non- business background.
