Youssef holds a BA in business administration, with a concentration in finance and minor in economics, from the American University in Cairo. After graduating in 2014, Youssef joined the capital market desk at the Arab Bank in Egypt for four years, where he managed the fixed income portfolio and was responsible for long-term liabilities products pricing. Additionally, he monitored and evaluated the bank’s money market fund performance. He later joined the Central Bank of Egypt in 2018, as part of the fixed income team in the reserve management unit. There, he invested foreign currency reserves along the fixed income spectrum, worked on structured funding products and analysed international financial markets. Youssef is pursuing his CFA designation and passed his Level 1 exam in June 2019.
Youssef decided to pursue his Masters in Finance at LBS for two main reasons: to accelerate his career progression through the rigorous curriculum that is provided by the world-renowned faculty at LBS, and to expand his network with exceptional individuals from around the world. Youssef is a recipient of the Chevening Scholarship. In addition to being a student ambassador, Youssef is an active member of the Finance, Investment Management, Emerging Market and Middle East clubs. Moreover, as he is passionate about sports, Youssef has joined the LBS Football and Running clubs. In his spare time, Youssef enjoys running, CrossFit and watching football and tennis matches.
