Vartan grew up in the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez before moving to Texas to get his bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance at Texas Christian University. After graduating, he qualified as a CPA and joined the audit practice of KPMG, where he specialised in audits in financial services, primarily private equity firms. Within KPMG, he took advantage of the opportunity to move to London as part of a long-term secondment, continuing his audit career in the private equity practice. Vartan decided to extend his secondment and join the part-time MiF programme at LBS in order to expand his financial knowledge, learn from best-in-class faculty, and study alongside incredibly diverse and driven individuals. LBS presented a unique opportunity to greatly accelerate his career while also becoming a part of a world-renowned academic institution. Apart from being a student ambassador, Vartan was also selected to be co-director of operations of the Student Impact Investment Fund, a student-led fund at LBS which invests in social enterprises delivering financial returns alongside measurable impact. In his free time, Vartan enjoys travelling, watching sports, playing golf, reading and listening to music.
