My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: Getting a sense of the culture at different schools. Culture fit was top of my mind since I knew that I perform better if I have a sense of belonging. Most of the programmes advertise using similar language so getting a sense of the true culture without visiting campus was a bit challenging
About me: I was born and raised in a beautiful city called Wuxi in Eastern China, and I moved to New York to pursue my undergraduate business degree at NYU Stern. New York City offered incredible opportunities for me to explore my career interests in finance. I had the opportunity to complete internships in mergers and acquisitions and hedge funds, which gave me insight into two different sides of the financial service industry and confirmed my passion for working in a fast-paced environment. During my time at NYU, I was the Vice President of Delta Lambda Phi Fraternity, a fraternity for gay, bisexual and trans men, and I set up co-sponsorship opportunities with other professional clubs to promote LGBTQ+ visibility within the undergraduate business school. After joining LBS, I was thrilled to discover that similar initiatives are carried out by the Out in Business Club and Project “So What?”. LBS to me is an incredibly inclusive environment where highly driven individuals come together to help each other grow. I look forward to meeting all of you and welcoming you to be a part of the LBS community.
