Previous or current role: Investment Analyst, International Finance Corporation

About me: Shukhrat is very happy to start his studies at LBS. He is enjoying classes because they are practical rather than academic, which makes the application of knowledge to his job much easier.

Before joining LBS, Shukhrat worked as an investment analyst at IFC where he supported the government of Uzbekistan by providing transaction structure advice on the development of over 1GW of solar energy plants with the private sector. IFC-advised projects produced one of the lowest tariffs in the world for solar IPPs and the lowest in Central Asia, at around $0.02/kWh. As a result, new markets have been unlocked in Central Asia as neighbouring countries are now interested in partnering with the private sector to diversify their energy generation away from heavy oil and coal. As a core team member, he was responsible for the transaction structure of projects, preparation of financial models and communication with investors, donors and clients.

After graduation from LBS, Shukhrat sees himself in investment banking supporting energy, mining and utility companies with his professional advice. He holds Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), ACCA qualifications.

In his free time, he enjoys reading books, cycling, running, boxing and cooking.
