Shajia is a CFA Charterholder and graduated as valedictorian from the Institute of Business Administration, Bangladesh. Prior to joining London Business School, Shajia worked as vice president and team head in the corporate banking team of HSBC, where she led an eight-member team and worked closely with senior management on strategy design and execution. She was the first female and youngest ever employee to be promoted to this role.
Shajia decided to join LBS to expand her network and pursue international career opportunities. London Business School's MBA, with its incredibly diverse student community representing more than 60 nationalities, aligned perfectly with her goals. Shajia received two scholarships (the LBS Annual Fund and the Vodafone Group Foundation Scholarship) to pursue her MBA at LBS. Coming from a patriarchal society, Shajia is a strong advocate of female empowerment. At HSBC, she was an executive member of the bank’s Women’s Network, where she and her team designed strategies to promote diversity in the workplace; she also personally mentored many young women. She is an ambassador for the Forte Foundation and was a recipient of the Forte Fellowship, awarded to women showing exemplary leadership and community involvement. At LBS, besides being a student ambassador, Shajia is a personal development lead for the Women in Business Club and serves on the Executive Committee for the Consulting Club.
