  • Degree Programme: Masters in Management
  • Global Nationality: Chinese/Canadian

Education: Bachelor of Science, Boston University; graduated in 2019

Topic(s) studied: Communications

Interested in: Consumer goods, retail, consulting

My greatest challenge when applying to business school was: Managing time between GRE prep, work and applications

About me: I was born in Hong Kong, grew up in Beijing and then immigrated to Canada with my family. From there, I traveled to the States and studied communications at Boston University. During my summer internships, I gained extensive exposure to strategy and marketing. As an intern at Hotel Jen by Shangri-La, I used marketing analytic tools to segment and target new audiences for social media outreach. Before coming to LBS, I assisted the marketing manager of a major restaurant chain in China, where we planned the initial stages of digital content redevelopment and launched new food products using market research insights. I am particularly interested in F&B and consumer goods, and my long-term career goal is to start my own business in the food and beverage industry. Consulting will be a great first step in achieving my goal, since successful entrepreneurship requires solid problem-solving skills and broad exposure to cases. By joining LBS, I am able to supplement my undergraduate experiences in marketing with comprehensive knowledge in business management. As for my hobbies, I love to cook and explore different cultures through food! Additionally, I love performing arts and grew up taking ballet, jazz and tap dancing lessons.

Three topics I can be approached about: Applying to LBS with a non-business background; GRE prep and grad application tips; time and stress management
