Lavanya is an engineer by education and a financial technology entrepreneur by choice, bringing diverse multinational experience to LBS. Raised to leadership positions since the early stages of her career, she is a three-time founder, and bootstrapped her first venture through ideation, seed and early stage to series A. Lavanya has most recently received an award for Excellence in Global Entrepreneurship from the Governor of Maharashtra, India. As a CFA level 3 candidate, she is passionate about financial markets and asset classes. She completed her engineering degree at the National Institute of Technology, India.
The experiential learning opportunities at LBS, both in the classroom and via student clubs, excellence in delivering multinational exposure through immersion electives and the availability of exchange programmes were instrumental for her in choosing LBS. Furthermore, as she aspires to transform the financial world using technology and London is the hub of the fintech boom, LBS was her obvious choice. She was also awarded a Merit Scholarship from the School to uplift her ambitions.
Lavanya is a staunch believer in women’s empowerment and equality for all, and has contributed to the cause in multiple ways along her journey. She sponsors two rural girls’ educations, volunteers to rehabilitate abused women and funds and mentors women-led startups. At LBS, in addition to being a student ambassador, she serves as the co-chair of MultipleX for the Private Equity and Venture Capital Club, and is an Executive Committee member for sponsorship and alumni relations in the Entrepreneurship Club. In her role, she aims to make London Business School the leading hub for nurturing innovations and entrepreneurship.
