Jose holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business with a concentration in Finance from Northeastern University in Boston. Jose has also been a CFA Charterholder since 2018. Before joining London Business School, he worked in the global banking and markets division of Scotiabank, first in New York and then in Mexico City. He was part of the derivative products group, where he structured and promoted interest rate and currency derivatives for corporate, commercial, and institutional clients across the Latin America region.
Jose decided to join the Masters in Finance programme at LBS for three main reasons: to build a diverse network with exceptional individuals from across the world; to strengthen his financial knowledge through world-class faculty members and a rigorous curriculum; and to leverage the school’s strong reputation and resources to successfully switch sectors within finance upon graduation. In addition to being a student ambassador, Jose is an active member of the Investment Management Club, the Emerging Markets Club, the Private Equity and Venture Capital Club and the Running Club. In his spare time, Jose enjoys running, practicing football, skiing, and hiking. He ran the Chicago Marathon and is looking to run the London Marathon in April 2020.
