My greatest challenge when I applied to business school was: Self-belief and balancing the application process with full-time work
About me: I was born and raised in Miami, a vibrant, diverse city that provided a great foundation for my international mindset. While I stayed in Miami for my undergraduate degree in finance at the University of Miami, I also participated in a semester exchange at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Italy. After graduation, I had the fortune of working at a futures and options brokerage for a year, which provided me with a unique opportunity to interact with and learn from both professional traders and institutional investors, developing an understanding of both parties’ goals to create value. My decision to pursue a master’s degree abroad started upon my return from Milan, and two of my mentors, who are alumni of the LBS MBA programme, encouraged me to apply here. In addition to the truly global representation at LBS and among alumni, the MFA programme’s opportunities to learn from professors who have produced paradigm-shifting research on finance matched perfectly with my professional goals. During my year here, I look forward to improving my understanding of the big-picture forces that govern international markets, gaining experience in data science and programming, and building lifelong relationships with fellow members of the LBS community.
